Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai - J11 (2013–2017)

Post by Pepe »

Hi, I just bought (2 days ago) a 2014 Qashqai 1.2 Business 360 Nissan Connect etc etc... with 40.000 miles on it and am reading about the problems I will have in the future. Which seems to be plenty.

After signing over the ownership I was presented with a plastic bag with 6 pieces of something I need to put over the front mask in winter. Otherwise the car won’t work in cold conditions! What!!!

Then I searched the web for more info and found out about the oil leakage problems! What!!!

Now please someone tell me it isn’t so bad, and that every Qashqai doesn’t break down immediately after purchase...

Hi Pepe, welcome to the Forum. It appears you live in Finland and would think that it gets “Cold” there. We live in Berlin and it can get cold here also but not like Finland and I did ask our Dealer if we needed it the answer was No!.
I have attached an old post which might help you regarding the Front Covers.
We have a Aug 2014 QQ 1,2L and have done half your mileage, but as of today never had an Oil or Engine Problem it is still running well. There have been a lot of Negatives on the subject and yes it is a worry but there is most likely a larger percentage of QQ’s running around with happy owners - Dave :D

Is this what you got or similiar 😊 :

Also living in Finland :)

The covers are not always needed. I had them on my previous QQ and when the temperature goes below 0 degrees they do come in handy. The engine is much earlyer warm then when you dont use them. They advise to use it below 5 degrees.
I did own 2 qq before and never had a problem with them. A forum like this is especially for these problems for info and help.
When no problems you dont post that much. So keep the problems in mind so you can indentify them early and for the rest enjoy your car.

I live in Sweden and never used cover, my j11 2015 1.5 diesel is all aways parked outside and in cold winters, starting it on - 15 or - 20 C was never a problem so don't worry and enjoy in your new ride [emoji6]
I never had any problem with my qq. 35.000km in tree years.
