Hello, my first post so please bear with me.

I have Qashqai 2010 1.5 diesel n-tec and my windscreen is cracked.
My insurance has a glass cover but i'm still wondering if i go through the insurance will that increase my next insurance ?

Also if i decide to not use the insurance can you guys recommend me some company for windscreen replacement which can give me the best price and does something need to be calibrated as i dont have any front camera i got only rain senson.

Thanks in advance.

I would not know, but you have a camera there for the light assistant and lane assist.
If you had a front camera for the 360 round view monitor it would be in the nissan logo.

If you're in the UK then autoglass are quick and easy to deal with. And usually your insurance will cover the cost, with a small excess charge paid by you. Usually somewhere around the £50 region.

I've had everything from small stone chip repairs to full windscreen replacement done by them and never had any complaints.

Thanks greg86 i’ll talk with my insurance company to make sure that not gonna affect the no claim bonus and price for the next insurance. I’ve checked in autoglass website without insurance cost 410£ which is too expensive for windscreen i think. Thanks alot again.

It won't affect your no claims or next year's policy.

I’ve tried to book with autoglass but they don’t know nothing about my insurance company so i just contact the no claim team of my insurance company and been told they will book an appointment.

Autoglass replaced my windscreen earlier this year, they were very good and everything was re-calibrated spot-on as it was done at one of their calibration centres, but I noticed afterwards that the screen they fitted (heated) was not a genuine Nissan screen but a 3rd party replacement. It was done in the hot spell of weather we had so it's only recently that I've got to try out the heated screen function and it works fine although for some reason it leaves an un-defrosted vertical strip about 30mm wide about a third of the way along the screen? I think the heat from the adjacent filaments eventually defrosts it but I'm not entirely happy with it and sometimes I have to switch in on a second time to completely get rid of this strip. I think it's still under Autoglas's warranty but I don't know whether it's worth kicking up a fuss over it.

I think I read on this Forum somewhere that you should be able to request that the screen be replaced with a genuine Nissan screen?
