Hi all. I replaced my wife's J11 FIAMM battery after it died and fitted a Bosch S5 A08 AMG in its place. Battery works great but it is firing a Start-Stop Fault now, I tried to avoid it during installation with some instructions I found from Duncho but to no prevail.
I purchased a bluetooth OBD2 reader and installed a couple of software programs (torque and mini obdII) but they don't seem to detect it as a fault in order to clear it.
Has anyone done this or Is there anything that I can do or look into before having to pay for someone to plug it in? Our main dealer just quoted £96+ VAT to do that!
Thanks in advance.
Adam

Not a fault I have seen but reading on here suggests a re-programming event (battery/ecu ??) is required.
As I understand, when batteries are replaced free of charge by the RAC or dealer (in warranty and serviced by Nissan) this takes place automatically as they are aware of this requirement

Mike, you are correct.
Q. What challenges do technicians face when changing AGM batteries compared to lead-acid based batteries?
A. With a Start-Stop vehicle fitted with an AGM battery, the technician cannot just replace the battery in the way that they have done with a traditional battery.
Instead, as the battery is intricately linked to the vehicle’s on-board electronics via a battery management system (BMS) or intelligent battery sensor (IBS), it has to be integrated into the system and paired with the BMS/IBS, which requires specialist equipment. Without the equipment to assist the technician and introduce the battery into the system, the vehicle could illuminate error messages on the dash, fail to charge the battery or simply not start at all.

Thanks for all the responses.
So for the battery registration process, is it possible to do that with a particular software program with my OBD2 reader, or will I need a more comprehensive device from a garage to do that? I've seen there is a BMW app called Carly which does battery registration, I just need to find the Nissan or generic equivalent I think.

I've searched for the Battery "calibration" procedure mentioned on this site a number of times. Its a little tricky to find but this is it:
Nissan Repair Doc - PCS+-+POWER+CONTROL+SYSTEM.pdf (Page PCS - 60)
BASIC INSPECTION > [IPDM E/R]
CUMULATIVE BATTERY DISCHARGE CURRENT CLEAR
CUMULATIVE BATTERY DISCHARGE CURRENT CLEAR
Description INFOID:0000000010499185
CUMULATIVE BATTERY DISCHARGE CURRENT CLEAR is an operation to clear the cumulative value of
battery discharge current which is memorized in IPDM E/R. This operation is necessary after replaced the battery.
Work Procedure INFOID:0000000010499186
1.CLEAR CUMULATIVE BATTERY DISCHARGE CURRENT VALUE
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Select “CML B/DCHRG CRNT CLEAR” in “Work Support” mode of “IPDM E/R” using CONSULT.
3. Touch “CLEAR” to clear the cumulative value of battery discharge current.
>> WORK END
It appears that Nissans CONSULT system is required. OBD won't do it. RAC obviously has enough to do it though? Would they come out and reset it fairly cheaply?
Stupid Stuff...for a Battery!

I had my battery replaced recently due to non starting.
The guy from Nissan came to my house took the old battery off and put the new one on, and off he went.
No resetting or anything.
