Hi Gel, that article makes for me an interesting read as a price comparison with your prices . I have an ADAC (AA/ RAC) App with the Local Prices but never use it as I always go to the same Esso Petrol Station - Dave
I have just looked at the prices on the App within a 4,9kms distance from our place and the prices are as follows :
Note €’s : (£ = €1.13)
Super : Shell = €1,299 / Esso = €1,299 / Aral = €1,359 / Sprint = €1,289 / Jet = €1,289
Diesel : Shell €1,209 €1,189 / Esso = €1,189 / Aral = €1,249 / Sprint = €1,179 / Jet = 1,179
Not a Big difference on Petrol but the Diesel seems High. Just looking at the UK prices as mentioned on your attachment for an example : Petrol £1,201 = €1,35 & Diesel £1,293 = €1,46

Supermarkets here weren't following Asda pricing anyway. I've switched to Asda being 3p/l cheaper than Tesco.

Dave, I believe most mainland EU countries have lower diesel prices (than gasoline) , which is presumably, primarily, due to that countries tax regime.
However, with the demonisation of diesel, can't see UK politicians changing that.
EU countries may want to emulate us with higher diesel £ €?

Here for many years diesel used to be around 2p cheaper per litre than petrol.
Then for a while it went to about 2p dearer per litre.
What I haven't worked out why is the fact that it's generally now about 10 or 11p a litre more expensive than petrol!

Asda is still 113.7p/l for petrol here
