Daewar, I have been using these 2 Wallets for a couple of years now and when you see the cost that Ken & Dave quoted it makes sense IMHO to go that way, no dismantling and the Battery cost is also a minimium using a Lidl or whatever CR2032 - Dave :)

Dave, what you suggested would appear to be the way to go. I discussed this with the manufacturer of our Pouches a couple of years back and he mentioned it could be done with a button. But and it was a big But if this is developement was done by a small company and “IF” something electronically goes wrong (eg. whilst driving) then the company would be none existence due to Legal procedures and Insurance claims. That is why it appears the Holdup is the Manufacturers but how long do Customers have to wait ! - Dave 😁

If you have to have the key in your hand to press a button doesn't that rather defeat the object of having keyless entry? Most cars these days have microphones fitted so I would have thought that voice recognition software might get over the keyless starting problem.

Sorry David I've just realized you meant an on/off switch to disable the remote when not in use.

It would appear this car owner used a signal-blocking pouch but their car was still stolen! :o :x

Sandgrounder, interesting point. When I first got our Pouch from Amazon it worked satisfactory until I went to show our Dealer how it worked and quite simply it didn’t 😡 I sent it back and spoke to the manufacturer and there were questions asked about the quality of the material not being to Spec, whether there was any damage from sharp objects, whether I had the pouch in my back pocket, sat on them etc - all basic questions for reasons of damage or not working.
The replacement has worked satisfactory now for some time and the spare also works. The problem is unless you just happen to forget that the key is in the wrong section of the pouch you never realize it does not work because you just assume it works. Also it is great protecting it at home from these Villians, but what do you do when you lock the QQ on the street or car park and walk away as they can be anywhere with this equipment - is the key immediately protected and placed in the correct pouch area or not ?. It beginning to look like that if the Manufacturers do nothing a consideration of an efficient Alarm, Immobiliser, Tracker has to be thought about which naturally costs but relative to the lose of the QQ and the agro involved most probably worth it - just my opinion Dave :)

It does look like the method posted in April 16 regarding Bundpol Security or similiar is still the way to go but it costs. Take a read of the comments #1 > 6 on Page 1. regarding the different prevention methods. There is also a Tin Can Version available if of interest - Dave
