What did we do years ago without Mobiles, now these people are videoing horrific scenes and posting. Here in Germany you have to stop and give 1st Aid Assistance (or supposed to as you can be prosecuted) but it now seems videos are more important. What sort of world are we living in - Dave

Autobahn deaths prompt calls to punish “Rubberneckers or Gaffers” in Germany :
In Germany they are now using these Mobile Temporary Panels to stop the “Onlookers”.
It was actually getting to a point where the “Emergency Services” were getting blocked from the Accident Scene.
Then came the Mobile Video boys and the Fire Guys got there own back with water , but believe it or not we’re prosecuted.
The Police are now photographing Cars & Trucks using Mobiles for Prosecution later. The problem being the opposite Lanes slow down to take videos and the next accident occurs. Plus it is an offense to drive using a mobile.
Why do people take pictures at crash scenes ?

But, conversely, we occasionally hear the Police asking for photographs from witnesses because as first responders (paramedics, fire crew) start to arrive the overall "picture" changes.
I hope that my personal reaction to being present at an incident like this would be to try to help in any way possible.
Unfortunately the younger generation seem to think that their mobile phone and camera are an extension of their hand and probably would react differently

The problem is social media, every one want to post the best footage that will attract more views to there social media pages like a status image thing.
Here in the UK people stand and video things like assaults or people having accidents and think it is funny, they then post on there social media page.
Yes some of these videos could help police but most of the time they are not taken for the purpose of helping the police.
As for doing it in moving cars passing accidents in the UK the police will never stop it they do not have the man power to enforce the law of using a mobile while driving it is widely ignored as the chances of getting caught are very slim.

This Police Action has hit the Press this week - Good Job Down !. Unfortunately these horrendous Truck accidents now appear to be happening on a daily basis here in Germany. OK the Autobahns are full with Trucks going to and from East Europe where many Trucks do not meet the Legal requirements, under paid, long hours, drive too close etc....
This week on the A6 in Bayern there was a horrific crash resulting unfortunately in a dead driver and whilst the Emergency Services were doing their Jobs an 8 km traffic jam built up and the “Gaffers” appeared. The Police Officer in charge of the Actions actually went Spare and threatened to dispose of Mobiles, Give Fines €120, photoed drivers and finally offered as a deterrent to let the “Gaffers” see the dead person - naturally the offer was turned down. His point was why take photos / videos of accidents and dead people. To me the Guy has respect and actually IMHO done a good job - Dave
Any Comments ?
Take a look at this video which is in German but I think it will get the point over on the action of these Idiot “Gaffers”
Hope it works you have to get through the Ads first ( you might need to touch screen a few times) :

This video shown here by the Daily Mail (English) has raised its head again here yesterday as the Justice Minister has been discussing stronger fines for these so called “Gaffers” who document accidents on their iPhones. Stronger Fines plus up to 2 years in jail are being discussed at present, could be stronger - Dave
