Steve, is this a joke regarding the EU, is the name really going to change back to Jif after Brexit 🤨. It appears to just be a Marketing Name Change World Wide (80 Markets) and the Co. also appears to be an British / Dutch Concern. Here it is called Viss and here is part of the EU so a different name - Naturally I could be wrong Dave 😉

There were a few comments here on this post on I assume the Street or Car Park Washes. Does anybody actually use these places for their QQ’s as they appear to be a bit dodgy regarding the Personnel, Safety & Chemicals ? - Dave 🤨

I was feeling affluent recently so bought a bottle of Karcher car cleaner - the results were good! Used over £1's worth though

I use the cheap ass €0.89 car shampoo « Klaro » from Action which works really fine and mainly wash the car by hand using the 2 bucket method as I show here;

It is easy and effective.
From time to time I also go to a high end carwash tunnel for having the bottom cleaned and the car polished as well. I also love the vacuum system.
Those small carwash and manual car wash service will never touch my car though...

Well that is some method (with a video), I cannot remember the last time I washed a car by hand it must have been at least 40 years ago. How can you do a “Section by Section” Hand Wash without splashing Foam & Water on the Areas already cleaned. Perhaps I am missing something here and sorry if this sounds negative it is just my opinion - Dave 😉
The other problem for example here in Germany is that normal water can be used, but it is not allowed to use “Car Shampoos” except in a Car Wash Area where the water is then Filtered - Pollution is the word.
I am a member of the “Car Cleaning Club” 😁 but I do use our Nissan Dealers Auto Wash it costs around €10 for the usual Wash / Wax / Wheels / Underbody and takes around 10 mins, then after I Dry the Water drops off - Ende. The time taken is minimal, water / shampoo cost is inclusive, window cleaner wipes supplied, no sweating etc. Waxing, Polishing, Detailing is then done as required at home.

Hi Dave

Here at the tunnel it comes to €15,- which makes it quite expensive if you want to wash the car regularly and I don't think my dealer (which is also a town away) does have that kind of service.
In Belgium we don't have that issue of polluted water and I presume you Germans take your baths as well with shampoo...?

Anyway, about the splashing... as I work from bottom to top and use the glove there isn't really any splashing going on.
No need to over soak the glove neither. Maybe I should mount my GoPro next time a give it a wash

As I said, it's just "one" method which I find really convenient as you don't need a water source nearby and it goes quick. Even in full sun you should manage to get it clean without any drop marks left behind.

Cheers
Niek

Niek, Sorry but your jokes bounce of me as I am still a “Brit” at the moment and not a German 🤣. The Pollution spoke about is what goes down the drains from the street and has nothing to do with Showering 😋. Your Car Cleaning method is at the very least interesting 👍 - Dave 😉
I have spoken with my “German” brother in law and he has no “LPG Sticker” on his Dodge Ram. The reason would appear to be that new EU Laws were brought in from 12 Oct 2018 for New Vehicles. Just to explain the two points :

“As of 12 October 2018, throughout all 28 European Union member states, the EEA countries (Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway), the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey, a new common and harmonised set of fuel labels will be compulsory for use on newly produced vehicles and at all filling stations dispensing petrol, diesel, hydrogen, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas fuels, as well as at vehicle dealerships”.

https://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEMO-18-6102_en.pdf

“There are interesting rules about washing your car in Germany. Originally these rules were introduced to reduce the amount of soap that was making its way into the waste water system. Now, there are additional goals: reducing the amount of oil etc introduced into the waste water system and reducing the overall use of water. The upshot of all of this is that you are only allowed to wash your car in a designated place and such places must have the facility to remove oil and detergents from the water and also to recycle water”.
