Hello All, from a new-to-forum owner with very little tech knowledge. Happy with 2 previous Qashqais.
I have a new Oct 18 Tekna+ 1.5 with new (115) engine. It is a low-mileage/usage car. 5000 miles in 7 months. It has failed to start 4 times so far.
Delivered 4 Oct 18, first fail Jan 19, then Mar 19, now twice in May 19. Dealer struggling to find fault other than saying ‘battery’.
Do I have a common-ish problem here or is this a unique situation.
Any advice welcome.

The battery was changed at 1st fault. (RAC said original battery was known to be faulty factory-fitted). Not changed since.

When I had my diesel I recall reading a suggestion to manually prime the bulbous fuel filter if this ever happened by giving it a few gentle squeezes. Not sure if this is any use or even still applies.

It might help to explain what happens when this occurs. Clicking, silence, turns over etc

Noddy1875: Thank you, it is going back, every time. I was more curious as to whether I had a common fault.

Pandjh - what happens:
When if fails to start, firstly there is always repeated clicking, followed by a mix of “Stop / Start system error” messages and “Key not present / not detected “ messages and (only observed once) flicking / pulsing of speedometer & rev counter dials - in time with each other

Thank you

Those symptoms sound exactly the same as the ones I experienced when I had a what the RAC guy called a 'battery failure'. As that was nearly 3 years ago its difficult to recall exactly. What I have never been clear about is whether the symptoms where because the battery had failed or there was not enough charge in the battery for it to provide the power required when I tried to start the car. The RAC guy simply said 'battery failure' and replaced it.

To me there is something wrong with the charging system if it's continually happening.
