Well the Car failed but now in 10 days there is a Dyson Designed Ventilator needed for the Corona Virus situation, perhaps this was already on the “Drawing Board” but the Co. has certainly turned this around quickly - Dave 👏

Dyson, the U.K.-based vacuum company, is working to produce 15,000 ventilators for COVID-19 patients as hospitals around the world reach patient capacity and suffer from a dangerous lack of sufficient medical and personal protective equipment (PPE).

This is the Function of the Ventilator : “A ventilator gets oxygen into the lungs and body—via an endotracheal (ET) tube that gets inserted into the windpipe—and removes excess carbon dioxide to aid in the respiratory process. The machine acts as an artificial set of lungs, doing the breathing for a person who cannot do so on their own. Ventilators even have the ability to hold lungs open in order to prevent the air sacs from imploding via a process called positive and expiratory pressure (PEEP).”

A thought:
I'm surprised at that considering time scales. Jumping from idea(s) to use certification is quite a struggle, Might have been better to go for production under license as others are likely doing?

OK unfortunately he pulled the Plug on it, but it does not appear to have affected his wealth. Here are the Facts on his proposed e-Car - Dave 🙂

“Now Dyson, 73, has revealed his doomed vehicle for the first time in an exclusive interview and photo for The Sunday Times Rich List, an annual league table of the wealthiest people in Britain. The 2020 Rich List coincidentally sees Dyson top the table for the first time, with an estimated £16.2bn fortune.
The electric car project began in 2017 when Dyson announced that he would be investing £2bn into developing his own vehicle, with half going into the car itself and half going into battery technology. A launch date of 2020 was stated.”

Here is a very nice overview of Dyson’s failed Electric Car Project with the Technical Facts & some nice Pics - Dave 😊

“New images of British billionaire Sir James Dyson's failed electric car project have been revealed, showing the seven-seat plug-in SUV in greater detail. The protoype, which has a claimed range of 600 miles on a single charge, is the only car built before the plans for an electric vehicle range were axed last October after Sir James - who has a net worth of £16.2billion and is the country's richest man - ploughed £500million of his own money into its development. Dyson has admitted that the car, tasked with taking on Elon Musk's Tesla brand would have need to have cost around £150,000 to break even.”
