Hiya guys.

So I have an older ctek xs 7000 multi charger.

Absolute beast of a charger. Has charged 1000ah+ of battery before without issue. Recond dead batteries back to life. Love it.

Now I know less than zero about start/stop. Is it preferable to purchase a new smart charger like the ctek ct5 ss say? Or will my trusty old boy do the job.

I mean it is a smart charger. Just an older version from when start/stop wasn't quite so mainstream.

From Ctek site its supposed to be this:

"The XS 7000 is a fully automatic 7 step charger that delivers 7A and charges 12V batteries from 14-150Ah, and is suitable for maintenance charging up to 225Ah".

Start/Stop is a vehicle function...the battery doesn't matter that much and particularly if you don't use Start/Stop. I don't.

So its no different to any other charger in the 7 to 10A range. Standard stuff. A Start/Stop battery is approx 80Ah and so your charger will charge it at about 7 Amps max and falling as battery comes to full charge/capacity.

The capacity to revive is a good one and depends really on the battery. They don't like deep cycle events.

OK cool. Thanks very much.

I'll be looking at getting a second battery in the back probably.
