Hi,

I've seen people making the home made wiring style but wondered for those who either fitted the genuine parts or had them fitted...

Are they worth it?

Thinking of buying myself and fitting but not to effect warranty... so using genuine than splicing my own wiring into the cars loom while under warranty.

But before I buy them from ebay, am I wasting my money?

If you do have them fitted (genuine ones) could you post a picture of themselves and how good they look please?

Many thanks,

M

White-wolf, we had our new QQ Modified and the Nissan Ambient Lighting #KE630-HV51A Installed before delivery our quoted cost was €86 inc installation. This lighting is far more effective than I thought it would be and IMHO worthwhile. On our old QQ I installed some LED Strips from a UK Co. until they packed up. Please remember ours is LHD but you will find the Nissan # the same - Dave 😉
PS excuse the Dirt ! ☹️

Dave - many thanks for the reply!!!

I think I'll have a go at them.

Found on ebay, genuine item @ £45 so not too bad. And installing myself should be easy enough.

Thank you again!

Just remember, Nissan will not hesitate to weasel out of a warranty claim if they think you have messed around with your cars electrical system.

Not for one minute am I saying you are not competent to carry out the job, but we all know how Nissan behave, so just a cautionary word.

I was told, by my local Main Dealer parts guy, that I should not charge my own battery whilst the car was under warranty, as Nissan would just be itching to void the warranty on the electrical systems if they found out I had.

Weasel, you might well be correct on your comment and should be considered, but I think it is all down to the Dealership and their attitude to Customers. I have had electrical Non Nissan Parts added to our Juke / Old QQ and the new QQ and when discussed there has never been a problem. If and normally it is an “If” Nissan Personnel have to inspect the vehicle, then there might well be a problem but most “Warranty” problems are handled through the Dealer by just informing Nissan. I have just had the wiring changed for a Rear LED No. Plate modified by our Dealer - no problem !. Our Dealer is also now offering and installing non Nissan Accessories to save Customers cost, me included - Dave 😊

No probs, Dave...and I agree with you for the best part, but your Nissan Dealer was doing the fitment, which is a big difference from the cars owner taking it upon her/himself to wire parts into the cars electrical system.

Hi guys.

I fully understand what your saying... it's something i may approach and ask first or see how much they may charge me for fitting.

Today my puddle lights have arrived. To my dismay it isnt the white block connector but wires and posiconnectors (photos attached)

The instructions are clear enough to an extent but... the last part isnt....

The led controller itself is clear but the 3 wires to the cars harness isnt...

Led controller purple wire says to connect to "battery saver harness PU wire. (So purple to purple?)

Green wire (from led controller) to "ignition input harness BG wire" not sure what colour BG is (isnt listen in the colour diagram)

White wire (from led controller) to "room lamp harness BR wire" (BR isnt listed)

Attached is photo of wires in drivers footwell location and the instructions.

I can take better pictures of all of the wires available to see if we can figure it out... or if someone has these fitted and could take a picture maybe?

Cheers,

M

Possibly may have figured it.. an american site covering the Rogue has it written down.

I'll now cross match the said colours and see if it adds up before testing.

Ok so.... decided to look for plug for footwell lights and found 2.

1 next to the OBD2 plug and one wrapped up and hidden away near petrol and bonnet catch.

One next to OBD2 didnt light then up... both other did.

Plugged next to the OBD2 plug out and looks like the correct colours needed for the puddle lights...

Power, earth and 3 others... beige, purple and green.

However my led controller is just 5 wires, no plugged end... OEM nissan puddle lights too...

So decided, LEDs work simple... power and earth and tapped off the footwell light bulb wires and all works.

Bolted to sills using the T hangers and threaded via door pillar.

All done.

I'll take pic of puddle lights later on the floor but for now...

Unsure why my pics always post upside down but. You can see.
