Nice Christmas present had to be towed home last night by RAC as my clutch pedal lost pressure and wouldn’t come back up.

Had a look this morning and fluid appears to be coming from under the car which I guess will be the master cylinder and not a diy job.

Local garage can fix on Monday but he has said it may need new clutch and other things if its a dual mass.

I guess this is a common fault so any advice on cost etc would be helpful as it looks like this will now be my Xmas Present.

Car is a 2013 1.6 Diesel btw.

2013 is getting on a bit I suppose. What miles is the car at? Could be any part/component of the hydraulics?

Thing with major clutch work is that its just as well to change all parts on the way. Laborious job!

It’s done 88,000 with no issues prior, first thing I noticed before the clutch pedal went was the warning notice came on to say the start/stop had a fault which I guess is related to some switch near the clutch.
The clutch itself wasn’t slipping which points at the slave cylinder on the gearbox as that is where the fluid is leaking from.

Interesting ...two of the cars I've had reached approx 130k miles with no clutch problems. Slave Cylinder is a pretty easy job which the S/S switching may be sensitive to.

I know pretty much what the S/S clutch switch is but not sure where its placed. Pedal or elsewhere and hydraulic related?

Had car repaired, it was the clutch cylinder that basically blew apart. New clutch as well, cost £470 all in. Not as bad as expected.

If thats a complete clutch kit with the slave cylinder + labour...its very good. Was it a Nissan dealer?

Mine has just gone also - do you know where the the master cylinder or fluid reservoir is located so I can check which has gone on mine?
