Since picking up my 2019 Qashqai 1.5TDCi last Saturday I've stalled it 4 times when setting off from standstill. At first I thought it was just getting used to the biting point of the clutch but it seemed to happen too easy.
Tonight on my way home it stalled again and the engine went from 2000rpm to 0rpm as quick as it would do when the eco mode kicks in. When I restarted it and pressed the accelerator the revs just sat at 1000. I pressed and depressed the accelerator for about 10 seconds before the needle actually went above 1000 and I finally, and embarrassingly, managed to set off.
Has anyone else had this problem as it's quite scary to think that the car could let you down as you pull out of a junction?

It's booked in tomorrow afternoon at Motorpoint for a diagnostics check.
If I sit in the car and gently rev the engine without attempting to set off, a slight press of the accelerator sees the revs climb to around 2000 and then they drop to around 1500 without lifting my foot off. I think it's as this happens and I release the clutch at the same time that brings the engine to a halt.

Its symptomatic of Oxygen sensing (O2) which if the sensor is defective will mess up combustion mixture. Thats usually after thge engine has reached operating temperature....based on coolant temp.

The ECU has no chance of managing fuelling so you should get the Check Engine Lamp on the instrument panel...in any related event.

Each time it has happened so far was with the engine cold and within only a minute or two of having started it. One thing I noticed this morning whilst waiting for the windscreen to demist was that the engine appeared to almost stall whilst on tickover. I had the fan on max and the headlights on and the fan speed sounded like it slowed down by around 25-30% and the headlights dimmed and the revs dropped from 1000 to around 700. This only lasted for a second or so until I assume the ECU adjusted.

The engine control by the ECU is pretty much fixed at that early time interval. Sensors shouldn't be playing any major part in fuelling combustion. Except perhaps the temperature sensor. That tends to point at fuel and electrical control units themselves. Air/Fuel Mix and Electrics instability.

It'll be interesting to know what error codes (DTCs) are present . What warnings are showing on the dash?

The only warning sign I've seen on the dash was this morning when an amber light started flashing just right of the speedo needle. It looked like a collision warning and flashed for around one minute and then just went off. I've still to look up what it was. Apart from that, the only other thing I've seen is the Clutch/ignition instruction that comes up telling me to restart the car after it's stalled.

Just been on the phone to my local Nissan dealer and my vehicle is marked down for a recall. They said it should sort out both the issue with the power loss and the IEB light coming on. I'm booked in for the 17th so I'll let you guys know how things go and if I notice a difference after it's been done.
