Hi guys
So I have a 66 plate Tekna Qashqai.
Only owned it just under 2 months.
Lane assist worked perfectly, however high beam assist only worked occasionally - only ever came on twice since me owning the car.
Anyway, it turned out the seal about the windscreen was coming away so the dealer I bought from agreed to replace the seal.
They got a windscreen company to come and attempt to take the old seal out and replace with new.
During this they cracked the windscreen so had to replace with a new screen.
I picked car up and asked if it would impact the lane assist/camera/high beam assist etc.
They said it had all been reprogrammed so no issue.
I tested it today on a 100 mile drive, lane assist only worked intermittently, high beam assist is blinding other drivers.
It comes on even when cars are approaching me, I have cars infront with their rear lights on and the high beam is still coming on.
Can anyone provide advice or assistance to fix this ?
Is there anything I can do myself ? Or does it need to go back to the dealer ?
Thanks in advance
Lane assist and high beam assist
Never used the high beam assist myself, but I would imagine it should only work under a preset range of circumstances, ie low light, nobody driving towards you etc. I'd turn it off till its fixed it was mine.
Sounds as though it hasn't been reprogrammed correctly.

Ah I see, before the new screen was fitted it literally only came on twice and it was pitch black when it activated (which I assume is correct).Noddy1875 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 9:27 pm Never used the high beam assist myself, but I would imagine it should only work under a preset range of circumstances, ie low light, nobody driving towards you etc. I'd turn it off till its fixed it was mine.

Now it seems to work when it feels like it.
I’m assuming it something to do with the camera that attaches to the windscreen.
Not sure why it would need to be reprogrammed as it worked before ?
Hopefully someone who has used the feature may be able to shed some more light on the issue.
Appreciate your help Noddy

Tion, try these they might be worth a read. We had a 2014 QQ for 5 years and never had a problem with the High Beam or Auto and I think you will find you need the Cameras / System Re-Calibrating - Dave

Thanks Dave, any idea if the camera would have been swapped from my screen to the new one ? Or is a new camera fitted with the new screen ?
Just wondering why it needs to be calibrated or programmed if using the same camera/sensor ?
Also I have no errors on the dash etc, surely this means the camera/sensor is already programmed ?

Tion, I would not think that a new camera would be installed unless this was previously defect or damaged whilst removing the screen. I would think the Camera Setup would be important to align to prevent all sorts of Alarms going off. Here are another couple of articles with a few more facts. I would personally ask at the Windscreen Specialist what is what and why just to learn - it is Sunday take a read Dave

Just had a read of them Dave. Looks like I’ll need to contact the dealer I got the car from and see which company fitted the new windscreen.
Guessing it’s not calibrated correctly. Hopefully an easy fix.

Both my new QQ and my old (2017) Insignia have High Beam Assist and there is only one stretch of road throughout my 20 mile journey to work on which high beam would come on. They've now improved the streetlighting on this stretch and now it doesn't come on anymore . Mine does work well though, as we went for a meal in a place that is up Pendle Hill on Friday night and it near perfectly switched the high beam on and off. Hope you get it sorted.
