Hi All

I dropped the undertray for the first time yesterday to change the oil and found the black braided pipe in the photo hanging free.

I presumed it clipped back on to the sump via the fitted clip and did so but is it correct that the end of the pipe is not attached to anything?

Is it just a drain?

Cheers

Thank you. I presumed it would be a drain of some kind since I couldn't see anywhere it could possibly have come from but thought it would be best to check as it was just flopping about on the undertray.

It's a drain pipe for fuel mate, If you get s fuel leak from the injectors the fuel will cover the engine if this pipe wasnt here so the fuel will collect at the start of the pipe then run out of there if you have a high pressure pipe loose or a return hose split or loose or anything like that

Has nothing to do with A/C

Your A/C drain pipe is attached to the interior HVAC unit and goes to the floor of the vehicle and you will see a rubber opening just behind the sub frame if you turn your A/C on after a couple of minutes you will notice drips coming out of it

I wouldn't know without checking but that sounds fairly dangerous. Purposely aiming diesel at the road surface...

Going to hit the floor in the end anyway if you get a leak better going straight to the floor than over the hot engine and possible the hot dpf. Dont get me wrong it would be better if it never leaked diesel but let's be honest nothings perfect
