But if imported the problem then comes on entry into the new country with all the modifications for Country Specs / Laws - Dave 🤨

Colin for you the HMRC : Importing vehicles into the UK: Paying VAT and duty - GOV.UK : https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-i ... t-and-duty
I imported 2nd hand cars Dave...twice. I also exported one. All VWs and in/out of Germany. I imported one new Mazda from the Middle East. The 2nd hand cars weren't an issue (70's) nor was the Mazda because in the Mazda case I'd owned/registered it for a year prior. All I needed on that car was a big covering with E numbers.

The danger point was Dover. Saw an Army family (kids) ejected from their new car at 3 am one night at Dover by Customs & Excise. I asked the soldier and he said his car had been owned by him for a year but registered for 10 months. He had been on an exercise for 2 months prior to registering with BFG. He had paid for it and simply owned it, parked outside his MQ on the Army base unused for 2 months. We military didn't pay road taxes then or reg fees...usually under paid and under fed anyway!

So he called his parents to drive in and pick them up with belongings...car impounded. Unbelievable/sick behaviour Customs.

Gloucester, recently you raised the question on the Cost of the Leaf in Germany and it would appear your comments are correct. Why the “Autobild” stuck these costs in is interesting. I got in touch with Nissan Germany and asked for the cost of a 24kwh Leaf and I was told they no longer exist only the 40kwh / 110Kw (150PS) or the 62kwh Leaf e+ are available. So that clears that question up and your comment, but I did not bother questioning the cost - Dave ✅ 😏

Your Comment : “In the UK the CHEAPEST leaf is £29,845 and the Government grant takes £3,000 off that making £26,845 - for the base Acenta model in red. Admittedly we don't get the 24kWh battery here so that's for a 40kWh one.”
