Hello,

I have recently noticed that whenever i drive my Nissan Qashqai 2017 Tekna the windscreen and interior windows suffer from excessive 'steaming up' (condensation). Perhaps it's just the weather, but it seems like the only way to get rid of it is using the blowers for some time and opening the window.

I was wondering if this is a common issue or just the natural way of things? If it's a known issue is there any fix, otherwise are there any sensible suggestions I can employ to prevent all this steaming up?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t mean to be rude or condescending but do you have your air conditioning turned on ?
This sounds like a classic steaming up problem, from the good old "pre-air con" days.

What Mike has mentioned is a relevant point - Air Con. We are on our 2nd QQ and have never really had this problem and here it can be a lot colder than the UK. Almost immediately on start up I get some minor Misting on the Screen, but I immediately hit the “Button #2” which Blasts the Misting away. The Air Con is always ON also and I tend to use from Lidl Humidifier Packs which amazingly tends to suck up the moisture - Dave 😊

Yes - I leave the AC on all year round for this reason.

They'll steam up PDQ at this time of year. Goto full blower and with A/C on for a fairly quick clear off. Adjust blower vents to get more air up the windscreen.

Thanks all for your comments. I was actually just turning the windscreen demisting switch on with the airconditioning kept off. I will ensure the aircon is also on next time I go out and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks again!

I bought a couple of Pingi dehumidifier bags from Amazon about £14 or so, not had any problems since. They a have a blue spot which when it goes pink need to be dried out either on the home radiator or in a microwave.

I am not sure if this will help you but this appears to be an addition as a “TIP” from Nissan to what I posted above - Dave 😉
