Hello. My 2012 Quashqai 1.5 dci starts, fires for about a second and cuts straight out. Try again, it does the same. The only fault code is a glow plug circuit code, which has always been there. Has anybody else experienced this?
Thankyou in advance.

hello bud

have you looked at your fuel pump fuse?
other thing when was your fuel filter last changed
if clogged fuel cant get through
have a diagnostic reader connected
might be crank sensor
hope this helps

Hello Did. Thankyou for your reply. I've checked the fuel pump fuse, it's ok. I presume you mean the in-tank lift pump. I've not yet checked that for a supply, but I did consider the fuel pump, as I've never heard it making the whirring noise. Why it has one as well as a priming bulb... God only knows. I've connected a diagnostic reader (A launch X431) it has no fault codes. No current ones anyway. I shall have a look at the live data for for the crank sensor. I can tell you it has sync between the cam and crank sensor.

If it has an in tank pump then the priming bulb isnt a priming bulb it's there to dampen the pulses and stop unwanted ticking noise. You will notice there wont be an arrow on the priming bulb because it's not got a one way valve in it. If you have can crank sync then I'd say timing is fine. Can you get fuel flow correction values up in your launch? And fuel rail pressure whilst cranking?

Hello Lewisbryant.
The fuel pressure is between 28 and 32 bar whilst cranking, and the engine fires, and the fuel pressure shoots up to about 300 bar and the engine cuts out. Try it again and the same happens. One thing I've noticed, if the car has been sat for a couple of days, it turns over for ages before it will fire and cut out again. Then it will fire and cut out again straight away?

An injector leak off test I would recommend first

Yes. I think you're right. If the engine was being shut down by the ECU I'd expect I'd expect it to throw a code.

So. Got around to doing a leak back test today. All 4 injectors leak off an amount that is about 1/8th an inch up the leak off pipe with each cycle? Is it normal to have fuel leaking off when cranking?
