Alarming statement at https://www.carwow.co.uk/nissan/qashqai ... lease-date:

As standard, the Nissan Qashqai is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. You can have it as an all-wheel-drive version, though, which comes with a CVT automatic gearbox. this is optionally available on 160hp petrol models with front-wheel drive, too.

I see it's in the extensive description above too:

With both 2WD and 4WD variants, 6-speed manual or new Xtronic transmissions, and pure-electric motor driving courtesy of e-POWER...

So the sensible choice if you can afford it is the e-POWER model then?

The film is pretty dark , and manages to mask a lot of the features.

First impression - its a conservative effort - based on new technology.

Will it be different enough from the J11B to stop customers defecting.

You could equally say "Will it be similar enough to the J11B to stop customers defecting?" couldn't you? Something more extreme would put people off?

Personally I'm already put off by the thought of that CVT gearbox.
The DCT box I have is so good I can’t imagine why they would choose to do away with it - baffling

Just to add some more facts and comments, here is the comment from Nissan Global on the New QQ - Dave 😊

“YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan today unveiled the all-new Nissan Qashqai compact crossover SUV for the European market, set to go on sale this summer. Marking the third generation since debuting in 2007, the all-new Qashqai once again aims to set a new standard in the segment it pioneered. The Qashqai reinvents itself, from the inside out, for today’s customers looking for striking attraction, comfort, refinement, efficiency and the latest in convenient and intuitive technology.”

Hmmm... 32mm wider so if I can squeeze it into my garage I won't be able to get out of the car. On sale in the summer. Glad I bought my new N-Motion last month and didn't wait. Looks ok but I was expecting something much more modernistic.

Shame it takes another year for them to release the hybrid model. Not in a real hurry to change cars though, my -08 J10 works fine, but of course it would be great to have something newer.

Perhaps they have done things differently with CVT and it works fine now? (don't have any knowledge on why that transmission is bad)

The normal hybrid comes first- the serial hybrid follows later.

Looks like they’ve retained the Vivid Blue colour? 🤷🏻‍♂️

At last, it will have wireless Apple CarPlay. Android Auto users will still have to use a USB cable though :?

The bonnet strut has changed location, at least on the Spanish version. Also the wing mirrors are auto-folding, again on the Spanish version.
