Dalinn, this new motor is a new Developement between Renault Nissan Mercedes due to the emission problems and built to meet the new Regulations from the 1st Sept. so there basically will be no real life information around. As you can see there is a vast difference in power from the present 115PS against the new options of 140 & 160PS being offered from Nissan.
Berry99, you will find that this is a Renault Manufactured DCT / EDC Autobox which has been around for some time and replaced the Nissan / Jafco CVT Autobox. We have had one for a year now and I was never an Auto freak but this Box is really a joy to drive, quite, smooth and always changed up / down in the next gear waiting for a change - Dave 😉

FYI this is part of an old post, if you need more facts go into the “Search” Area :
The Renault Gearbox is referred to as a DCT or EDC Auto and has been around for some time although not used by Nissan as they went with their CVT Gearbox which you obviously have. There have been problems with this Gearbox in the QQ but bigger ones in the US as they then offered a 10 year Guarantee on this, built by Jatco a Nissan Co.

I am in the same boat as you looking for a new one and I am just putting some Specs together to get a quotation - Regards Dave 😊
I would think you must be pretty satisfied with all this Forum feedback and I hope it all works for you.
If you have time try playing with the “Search” Area as there is most likely more information there 😉

Here are a couple of old posts on the subject and there could be some attachment repeats :

Anyone knows the maintenance schedule for the dct
I know it is a dry style dual-clutch but these also change OILs at some interval
I want to know the used oil specs, the oil quantity and the interval

I would appreciate if anyone has a link or pdf file for all the maintenance for the 1.3 Dig-t 160 dct

Thanks in advance

Have you read the handbook?

Nissan are as helpful as they often are:

AUTOMATIC (DCT)
TRANSMISSION FLUID

When checking or replacement is required, NISSAN
recommends contacting a NISSAN dealer or qualified
workshop for servicing.
CAUTION
• Use only Genuine NISSAN DCT fluid. Do not mix
with other fluids.
• Using transmission fluid other than Genuine
NISSAN DCT fluid will cause deterioration in
driveability and automatic transmission durability,
and may damage the automatic transmission.
Such damage is not covered by the
warranty.

However they do list the following specs:

DCT Transmission fluid

Capacity (approximate):
HR13 - 4.0 L
K9K Gen8 - 4.7 L

Recommended Fluids/Lubricants - Genuine “NISSAN DCT Fluid”
(2015 Nissan Qashqai Tekna DIG-T 1.2 sold 15/6/18) ~ 2018 Suzuki Ignis SZ5 - 2018 Yamaha MT-07 ~ (2024 Volvo EX30 ordered)

Hello Dave,

I am confused a little regarding the fitted dct in QQ as o heard contradictory statements ,
Is it dry EDC by renault with 6 speed ? ( I doubt as the oil capacity from the service book is 4L in this thread )
Is it wet 7 speed ? ( in this case it should be the 7dct300 provided by Getrag the german known maker )

I saw in another thread that it is the same gearbox used in Mercedes A200 and in a thread of their forum , a lot of users said there is a very obvious lag at standstill or when moving from stationary in junctions or roundabouts , is this the same case with QQ dct ?

Shouk_1987, I have also read some of these comments on the “Renault” DCT / EDC Auto 7 Speed Gearbox which to me was also confusing. I have been looking and firstly it appears that the “GETRAG” Concern is owned by Magna International for years now. After reading your Post today I final found a comment that the 7DCT300 appears to be manufactured by GETRAG for the QQ.
I have attached some comments below for interest which do appear to point it being a GETRAG Box - I hope this is of some help Dave 😉 🙏

Many thanks Dave for sharing your experience
So to summarize it up :
-Renault uses the same getrag 7dct300 in many of their cars ( I am aware of kadjar and megane ) and they call it EDC
It replaced earlier EDC ( 6dct250 dry by getrag where this earlier one was released or used by 2010 )

-QQ uses the same wet 7dct300 that renault uses ( dual clutch )

-Mercedes a200 ( which have same 1.33L engine of QQ ) uses a 7 speed getrag as well but three clutch system and it is not the one in the QQ ( this triple clucth is the one mentioned in Mercedes forum where some users face lag for startup from stationary )

-Mercedes a220 uses a 7 speed made by mercedes
