Hi all, I have recently purchased a 2014 qashqai 1.5dci tekna last Friday. After driving it home with no issues the next time I started it it had a slight misfire and brought the yellow engine light on. After the miss cleared I proceeded to drive it then the following warnings came on, chassis system fault, system fault and start stop fault. It also beeps loudly about 3-4 times when locking which doesn't seem normal to me. After ringing the garage who are 80 miles away from me they advised me to book it into a garage local to me to have the faults fixed under warranty. Based on the information given, does anyone have an idea of what the faults can be? And also, as the warranty has a limit of £60 per hour for labour I doubt I will be able to use my local nissan dealer, so does anyone know of a Nissan specialist in the North East who I could use?
Thanks
Faults on new purchase

Thanks, you're the 3rd person to say the battery, seems to be a common theme

Dannyh, you are saying you have a Guarantee that is only for £60 / hour Labour, this is not going to go far these days using for example a Nissan Dealer and if Parts are needed that comes out of your pocket, not particularly a good Guarantee.
As mentioned firstly go for the Battery but it might be worth reading some of the Posts under “Search” on Batteries, the recommendation seems to be now that “Varta” Batteries are being more and more Installed in QQ’s in the UK - Dave

Thanks Dave, yeah I don't think £60 will come close to a main dealer. As for parts there is a £1000 limit for the claim so hopefully I should be covered there. Thanks I'll do a search as you say.

A Battery capacity test by any garage or RAC etc would be very useful in determining the performance of same. After that and if ok...it looks like fairly common diesel problems? Error codes (DTCs) will need examining anyway which some garages could do.

you will be hard pressed to claim for what is commonly deemed a wear and tear consumable

Thanks for the replies, I've got it booked in for a battery test today so I'll see what that brings. As for it being a wear and tear item, I understand where you're coming from but if they refuse to change it then surely I'm within my rights to retun the car seeing as I've only had it 5 days

I seem to remember a common 1 month after purchase period to get the car:
changed
fixed
returned for money back
Check the UK Consumer Law website
