Hi,

Has any one fitted the Nissan dashcam (Part No:B8452DF60A) to their J12 Qashqai? It looks as if it fits in front of the interior mirror and presumably there is a power supply there already.

I have had no luck on finding fitting instructions online and help on that would be appreciated.

I'd be more concerned about specifications than fitting instructions.

I held off getting a dashcam until I could get a FullHD one but I'd still like more resolution than that gives - currently using a Nextbase 312GW

Had a chance to look at the instructions..

The Nissan Dashcam comes with a wiring loom a variety of clips, template and permanent sticky pads Fitting requires removing the lower dash trim, A pillar trim and door seal trim adjacent to the A pillar trim. The original A pillar trim clips need to be levered out and the kit ones put in.

Although I have done this sort of thing many times in the past now days my arthritis would make this quite arduous. Also, although overall I like the Qashqai a few niggles are creeping in not least the 26 mpg so it may not be a keeper.

Going to use the dashcam out of my old car despite not being 4k or anything close has a very good chip and lens so has a cracking picture day and night and put up with messy cables.

Have you tried suggesting to the dealer that, since you bought the car from them, they might like to throw in free fitting if you buy it from them? I had various extras fitted to my motorbike by the dealer when I bought it and I only paid the parts cost - which they also discounted 10% (you get a "Gold Card" 10% discount for a year from them).

Seems same kind of style as the 'j12' camera but a lot cheaper https://www.halfords.com/technology/das ... hgreferral
Before Skoda Karoq SEL, virtual dash, heated screen.

Now: J12 Nissan Qashqai

I decided to have this new J12 dashcam fitted at my local Nissan dealership in Widnes and after four hours of waiting for the fitting without joy plus two weeks waiting for the official reply via Nissan UK I was advised that this unit is incorrectly labelled and sold as it fits the J11 and not the J12

Welcome to this forum.

This was confirmed by someone else on here when he tried to get it fitted.

Nissan are advertising this as a J12 accessory but the installation illustrations show a J11 - not even a J11B.

It's a really odd situation - still wrong at https://shop.nissan.co.uk/products/niss ... b8452df60a

The crucial difference with the Nissan one is that it fixes flush to the screen.

However the Halfords one looks really cheap for a 1440p resolution! Currently just £35.10 as I type!

Bought my genuine Nissan dashcam for my new J12 from Glyn Hopkins Online and had it fitted by a mobile fitter. Instructions are crap, and after two visits and various phone calls it still does not work. He says there is no power where it plugs into the harness. Glyn Hopkins do not reply to calls or emails, supplying dealer in Leamington cannot help, now booked it in to Nissan Leicester but even they say their own staff don't fit dashcams and they always get a specialist in!
