Hi,

My 2011 1.5dci started misfiring and on checking is showed p0202 & P0204 so both injectors and fuel filter were changed.

Since then at random times, the engine light and skid lights come on, it starts misfiring/running rough and each time we check it shows the same P0202 error.

Strangely if you stop, turn off the ignition for a couple of minutes and then start it again, 8 times out of 10 it runs fine again and the engine light goes out.

Any ideas please, its driving me mad!

Diagnostics present P0202 as a possible emissions error. Do you get the yellow warning light on the dash display?

Engine errors will cause the Body Control to be disabled hence the skid warning

P0202 Faults:
NO. 2 CYLINDER FUEL INJECTOR CIRCUIT
• CO: Open circuit
• CC: Short circuit
• 1.DEF: Line in open circuit
• 2.DEF: Open circuit or internal electronic malfunction

Causes:
• Harness or connectors
(The fuel injector circuit is open or shorted.)
• Fuel injector

This is the same diagnostic result for all 4 injector systems

The DTC can self cancel depending on number of engine starts where the DTC is not read again....3 times apparently

Thanks for that.

it depends, sometimes its a amber engine light, sometime both but yesterday it was a red engine light only

I think I might just change the engine wiring loom, breakers seem to charge about £150 for one.
HAs anyone done this?

Presumably if you bought a secondhand loom you'd thoroughly test it before installing it? So why not test the existing one? Could be just a loose or corroded connection?

...

Yellow/red doesn't matter as regards testing the harness and injector.

The injectors can be tested for resistance...check them. Appears to be 150 to 250 ohms at room temperature

After a lot of messing around, turns out one of the new fuel injectors that we fitted was faulty! This has caused me so much grief.

The replacement has been in 3 weeks now and touch wood no issues

Hope this helps someone
