Hello

I recently bought a 2017 Connecta, it got 28k mileage on the clock. I drove a diesel car for the last 5/6 years, so not sure how a normal turbo engine sounds. I don't hear any abnormal noise when the car is stationary even I press the gas pedal. But when accelerating from parking to 1st gear or changing gear from 2-3 or 3-4, I hear this motorbike-like noise. I've booked in for a check this week. The dealer is not a Nissan approved dealer. They already said they checked everything before selling but didn't pick up any noise. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know whether a normal turbo petrol engine sounds like a motorbike while accelerating and changing gear. Thanks in advance.

Thanks MikeGC. I tried to upload a short video but failed. I'll try again, that might help

Welcome to this forum.

My motorbike sounds nothing like my car.

You could upload a video to YouTube?

Just to update you on the sound, it's still there. Mechanics said no issues with the engine, timing chain, oil, etc. It's just vibration from some plastic parts. They taped it, it stopped for a day but started again which is quite annoying. I might take it back again

I see what you mean - and haven't a clue what it could be - my car didn't have that - some sympathetic vibration is a strong contender.

Sounds like interior vibration, have seen the heater matrix pipe behind the passanger side lower dash cover rattle against hvac unit cause this and also from under the bonnet we have seen rattles like that occur due to where the heater matrix pipes go in to the car wrap a ziptie around the both pipes and tightened it so the squeeze together this has also sorted vibrations
