New to Forum

Getting delivery of a 2019 QQ Acenta Premium next week.

Its got what I need at the moment and came within my budget, but I will most probably need to buy some extras within the next 18mths.

The first is a tow bar. I don't mind whether its detachable or not just as long as it does the job. I was going to look into fitting this myself later but any recommendations would be good. I have done a search on the forums of what members have posted, but some of the links to sellers are old and not working...one link sent me to Japanese porn site

The other thing I was looking at was to see if anyone on the forum has fitted aftermarket roof rails as the QQ I'm getting doesn't have any so can't fit a roof box or bars which I got used to using on my old Pug. I have seen some advertised on sites, but not sure of fitting them. Some of them are for "cosmetic" appearance only

Ive also seen something called "wind deflectors" that fit around the door windows. Are these really needed ? and do they work ?

I have asked the Nissan dealer if he can update the Sat Nav for me but he hasn't got back to me yet. I have seen that its possible to buy a small update drive from ebay for about £40 but haven't looked into how to install it yet until the dealer gets back to me

if you want to fit roof rails , then the headlining needs to be removed - make sure there is a good seal at point of fit.

Ref satnav , I wasnt sure if your model actually had sat nav.

If the car is in the manufacturers 3 year warranty - then you might be able to get the latest SD card.
If the car does have sat nav , and its a connect 3 system , then you do it via wifi

Tow bar - no experience in that direction.

Roof rails - cheapest option is to get some off eBay - straightforward enough apparently (mine had them already)

Wind deflectors - I suppose if you like to drive with the windows slightly open then they might make a difference and be useful but I've never had them on a car.

Sat-nav - if the dealer will do it at no cost then fine. I presume "your" car has the "old" system - there was a change between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019 to a newer unit without an SD card slot and with AA/CarPlay. The older unit can readily be upgraded with a cheap SD card - refer the relevant topic on here.

By mid-Autumn the Acenta Premium had replaced the Acenta and had as standard: "6 speakers, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto®, TomTom Connected Services®, Voice Control, New NissanConnecta 7” Touchscreen Navigation and Entertainment System, Shark Fin Antenna" - but as we know cars were delivered up until Spring 2019 with the old system in place.

I added Heko wind deflectors to my 2019 and then took them off in under 3 weeks due to the drastically increased wind noise levels. So much quieter without. (That was with the windows closed!)

The dealers says I will have the updated infotainment system so no need for SD cards it will update via wifi apparently.

I don't think I will bother with the wind deflectors, Thank You for the heads up about the noise

I will keep looking for some roof rails, most I have seen are cosmetic ones for around £75

Looking at Tow bars, it looks a bit of a minefield as to which model QQ they fit. Dealer said he will get back to me with correct part numbers to choose.
