Auto brake - Is this new behaviour or a fault?

In my 2018 QashQai, the auto brake would release on first start. My 2022 version needs the button to be pressed before auto brake releases. It works as expected when driving along. I stop, auto brake active, lift clutch and brake releases. This sequence does not work when car started, for example when it has been switched off and locked. So is this new behaviour, a setting I need to change, or a fault that needs to be fixed?
Now 1.3 petrol Tekna + Gunmetal (Oct-2022)
Was 1.5dci Tekna+ Gunmetal (March 2018)
Was 1.5dci Acenta Premium Magnetic Red (March 2014)

On my 2022 the auto brake automatically releases as I drive off (reverse or forward) with no need to press anything.

It was a fault. It went into garage today. Clutch pedal potentiometer came off clutch pedal. Re-fitted and all OK now :-)
