So today I have installed the maplight unit. It didn't need any cabling and the echo is gone.
The sound quality of calls is a bit Qashqaiish, but it is also far from bad. Let's say acceptable.

Hi all
Can someone please explain to me how does reprogramming the keys unlock the radio? I have found a key specialist who can reprogram the keys but his not sure about the radio being unlocked don't want to spend £60 and it doesn't work

I don't know what they exactly did to mine, but basically it is to reprogramme the keys with the ECU, so the immobilizer keys work with it.
It was about the same amount here in Hungary. So if they know what they do, it's worth it.

I believe you need Nissan to re-register the keys with the vehicle. As far as I know this does some type of rescan and "adopts the new radio" . Luckily my unit did not require it and worked straight up.

Seems a simple way to resolve the install.
I have got a 2019 new radio unit to go in my 2016 Qashqai, built the harness and plugged in I can get radio but that's about it before it locks.
I notice it will say "Secure Green" after "finalising installation" if you don't connect the AVComm can lines but goes straight to "Secure Red" if they are connected. So this is where the security check is.
Doing a man in the middle can bus 'attack' on the AVComm can lines for my old unit I can see and repeat what appears to be the challenge and response messages so my old unit unlocks as if it was plugged straight in.
I can't seem to work out the newer unit though the above CAN Filter must be sending something similar back to the new radio unit. The manufacturer website says it will work with all sorts and even unlock on the bench.
Has anyone got one of these and able to see the CAN messages to see what it's actually doing? Or has anyone else tried reading and sending CAN messages to this unit?
