Battery dead

Hi all,
the car had been sat idle for 2 months hence battery was flat, tried jump starter pack which didnt work so bought a new battery, car lights up but when try to start it just tries to turn over but nothing fires up, when i take the key out and back in i am left with the airbag icons and a red car image. What am i missing
car is 2011 1.5DCI Acenta
