Pulsar 2016 UK Headunit issues

Hello,

Posting here instead of Pulsar forums due to masses more info. Done my research on this forum.

Recently my headunit has started crashing and dropping bluetooth audio for moments. Progressively worse in last month, never before. DAB also cuts out very easily, unusable if usb lead is connected (get usual message about bad format, then crash). Connect 3 LC2 unit.

It's never been updated either, map or software. Am I worth updating it myself to D554 or just buying an aftermarket new Android Auto headunit? I'm travelling end of this week so need it working one way or another. No time to be messing around with Nissan direct!

Cheers.

Connect 3 is circa 2107 and onwards and has not been issued with a firmware update. It does not fail as earlier units and as you describe.

What is LC2? What year is your vehicle (and the headunit installed)

From an Autotrader ad for a 2016 Pulsar:

Certainly different to a Qashqai

Looks different to the qashqai but its exactly the same software as the 2014 to 2018 qashqai connect 3 as they like to call it. Update to d605 mate. They also take the same satnav cards also

That’s the Connect unit my 2014 Juke had fitted.
I vaguely recall a few software type upgrades to cure loss of DAB, etc.

Thanks all,

I factory resetted and repaired all bluetooth devices and definitely works now. I'm taking it to Nissan tomorrow for some recall issues and get them to firmware update. One or two dials are a bit funny so I can't get the sequence done myself to sort the firmware out via USB. Hopefully this fixes the issue permanently, it's very strange.

Prior to my tinkering today, gps was totally wrong, radio + bluetooth + aux all cutting out entirely every few seconds. Seems okay now though, as I say.

Have to pay 400£ for brackets and sockets to install Android Auto on top of the custom head unit, so that may have to wait!

Update for any who care... Nissan updated the firmware for free after telling me it would be 160£+diagnostics fee. Works sweet as a nut now!
