Hi, looks like you might be right mate, I've searched all over and seems each sensor is set. I m not sure if say you had a broken one would you just give the new sensor the same I'd?
I also read that there should be space for up to 8 sensors so winter wheels can be used with different sensors.
Maybe the way to go is just fit my winters and get the sensors set. Maybe only have to do it once.
Manufacturers have got us all tied up, you couldn't make it up.

I note some of the TPMS sensors are cloned for easier installations...either wheel swaps or sensor replacement. Not sure about Nissan procedures but it might be possible with the right config tool and "blank" sensors? Perhaps the tyre fitter companies know more?

Resurrecting the thread, I've now bought some alloys from a 17 qashqai, they have decent tyres and hopefully standard nissan tpms sensors fitted,
I'm not fitting them till winter need to fix bit of kurb rub and corrosion, and paint, I'm doing them gloss black.
Do you think if they have original tpms sensors fitted I will still need to code them to the car?
Or will my car pick them up anyway?
I've read another thread on here that stated when the guy refitted his original wheels after winter the tpms light came on. But he hadn't marked which corner the wheels came off, so I'll note mine when I xhange.
You wouldn't think something so simple could be so awkward.

Thanks for that dave I'm going to just put them on and see, because they are genuine nissan alloys and have 4 nearly new tyres on, I dont want to remove the tyres unless I have to hence question asking advice on whether my car would pick the sensors up or I would need to add them to the 4 already in the cars memory. I'm surmised that they have genuine nissan tpms sensors fitted, but don't know really. So I'll have to try them first.

they only seem to be for the j12 on the glyn hopkins site and they need programming to, so even more expense ;)
