"FIAMM denies the allegations and insists the batteries were manufactured in accordance with specifications provided by Nissan.

Instead, the cause of the failures was the "faulty design and operation" of the battery management system installed by Nissan, which was supposed to balance fuel use and battery health, according to Stephen Rosen, the company's lawyer at Collyer Bristow. Nissan declined to immediately comment.
"

I always felt that the problems I had with non-operative stop/start were caused by the charging system.

After all surely these Fiamm batteries were used by other manufacturers without similar problems arising?

Gloucester, here is the comment from across the water US Bloomberg, looks like a lot of money involved - Dave 🤨

“Nissan Motor Co. is demanding 122 million euros ($145 million) in damages from an Italian supplier it accuses of supplying about 900,000 faulty starter batteries that left customers with undercharged cars. ... Filings in the court case have highlighted customer data from Nissan in its long-running saga with FIAMM.”

Our previous QQ battery failed earlier in the year due to lack of use during lock down. It was replaced under warranty with the better battery when the RAC came out after over 3 hours waiting. We were stuck in Home Bargains car park for over 4 hours and received a fine in the post a few days later because we had overstayed. Fortunately the store helped get it sorted out otherwise I would have been claiming off someone as well.

80-90% Nissan’s fault, 20-10% FIAMM’s. Battery management in QQ J11B is crap and everyone knows that.
