Some £423m, meanwhile, will be allocated to the production of a new electric crossover which "promises next-generation vehicle styling, efficiency and battery technology, making the switch to electric driving even more accessible". Nissan remains tight-lipped on its positioning, but a preview image suggests it will be slightly smaller than the Ariya, but adopt a similar coupé-style silhouette.

Slightly smaller...

It will use the same CMF-EV architecture used by the Ariya and Alliance partner Renault's new Mégane E-tech. A production start date has not been given, but the current-generation Leaf will go out of production around 2024, suggesting the new model could be a replacement for Nissan's pioneering production EV.

OK - but the Leaf is actually larger than it looks - nearly Qashqai sized. And it's not a crossover.

When do we get all the new Nuke Power stations to match the NIMBY (National) emissions for Net Zero CO2 compliance?

BTW...about EV saviours: The EU Commission has been formally notified (June 2021) by their Scientist friends (IASTEC Europe) that jumping CO2 (NZ) reduction to 2030 is derived from an erroneous construct. Incomplete formula used. Leibniz from the 17th century is correct. I'd say this is rather serious. But would relieve car manufacturers etc ...a bit. Looks like the Scientist friends want a continuance of a fossil fuel mix thru to 2040 using bioFuels plus eFuels .... :o

The open letter authors wrote: (A big fat circa 50% error)
"As a consequence we must inform you, that due to the typically unnoticed miscalculation the CO2 saving potential of additional contributors of the sector electricity is much more limited than expected by many politicians and communicated! This situation clearly is in contrast to the recommendations of quick CO2 reduction of IPCC.”

Hi,
All sounds great but when there are millions of battery cars on the road what's going to power the charging points, and also correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they still cant recycle these batteries yet not to mention what will they do with all the crude as that will still be needed by ships and heavy machinery I would think.
Me I'm happy with my little diesel averaging 72mpg for the past two weeks 750miles to the tank.

Part of the "EV36ZERO" concept is reusing batteries from electric cars for storage where the fact that they've declined to less than 80% capacity isn't critical.
