Crank pulley fell off

Hello,
Last night the Crank pulley fell off the car and the belt flopped out, belt fine no fraying at all. The pulley has split in the the rubber bit. There looks to be a tiny bit of coolant leaked out, bit it looks to be coming from where the sump gasket is, I've pulled the cover off the timing belt and water pump which is above where the leak is, but it's dry up there.
Last night it was just the battery light on, I was only 500yds from home so drove back. Had a look this morning, put covers back on, the coolant leak hadnt continued over night, so I started the car, drove down the road, again about 500 yds then noticed that the red oil (?) warning light (red ! Light) so Iv gone back home. Got the feeling it won't be worth the money fixing it if oil lights come on too?

Welcome to this forum.

Not sure what you mean by "...the Crank pulley fell off the car..." but I'm surprised it's drivable!

Sorry, as you can see I haven't a clue with cars lol
The pulley that drives the alternator belt, it has the rubber center, that seems to have split off an inside piece

OK, so could the red (!) light just be on because the belt isn't there? She's coming to the end so there's not much point in spending much cash on her. If I can get a pulley cheap enough my mate can slap it on for me, if it's a garage job I imagine it wont be worth it...

Yes - that ought to cause a warning light as the battery is not being charged.

Should be fairly cheap to fix

Had that happen on a Mercedes S Class luckily it was under warranty as the repair bill was £1500. The rubber damper fails and the thing disintegrates.

Hey Dan,

did you manage to get this fixed? was it a easy swap or did you have timing problems?

Thanks!
