Car Alarm and stormy weather

Hi ,

I have only just bought a 2017 N Connecta model , I'm wondering is the alarm system sensitive to going off in stormy weather ?
And if so what is the best way to prevent this from happening. I know some models have a button by the rear view mirror to turn off in car motion sensors , mine has a setting from the menu settings which I believe does the same thing. Does turning off the in car motion sensors prevent the alarm going off unnecessarily in stormy weather ?
Or if one just uses the key that's inside the key fob to lock the doors , will that result in the alarm not being activated and hence not go off at all ? In case relevant , my model has the keyless entry features .
Any advice on this topic , would be much appreciated thank you.

Paul

Welcome to this forum.

My car's alarm never went off unexpectedly. Neither has the one in my present car.

Hello @PaulM,

My 2014 and 2017 Qashqai’s behaved themselves in stormy weather and so has my current Tekna - it has coped with Storm Arwen, with the next test being Storm Barra! 🌪

Turning off the internal sensors is a start; also try closing your vents in the cabin too.
