Mobile phone battery booster for Dash cam?

Hey guy's
Firstly, apologies as I'm a total noob to anything electrical and need advice.
I have a front and rear Dash cam that I fitted (Aukey Dr02) it doesn't have an internal battery, runs of the cars power via USB, and obviously powers down after around 2 minutes. Don't really fancy hardwiring it to the fuse box. However I would like to have some form of sentry mode, not for overnight, just when the car is parked up at the super market, railway station, street parking etc for anytime up to a few hours. Rather not want it hardwired and on 24/7 and potentially drain the battery.
Read today about Mobile phone USB battery booster packs???
Never heard of these before, but apparently that can be used to run a Dash cam for anything up to 4 days, then they need recharging. 4 days is way more than I need but if it does work? I can keep one in the arm rest cubby, when needed unplug the cam from the car USB, plug into the booster, lock the car and voila parking mode.
Does anyone with better knowledge than I think that this is plausible?

Well battery packs have been around for years. I'm presently on my second one after the first one (a Lumsing) failed after about five years of occasional use.

I've had this one for about two years - seems fine and came with a free USB light too so it can be used as a torch.

Your suggestion seems fine albeit I haven't tried it in that mode - my dashcam's hardwired into the fuse box.

Is the facelift car the same as the previous J11.

On my 2015 car my dashcam was plugged into the armrest accessory socket via an adaptor and turned off automatically with the ignition.

But if you plug into the fascia accessory socket that's on all the time. So no need for a battery pack, simply an adaptor?

EDIT - latter statement only applies for a J11 not a J11B - see below

I use the USB in the large cubby under the armrest, my cigarette lighter (old school term) ;) is used for my phone and vape.
I don't use the one in the centre console under the climate control panel, on my 2018 QQ this is the same as the cubby, powers off after around 2 minutes

[Yes - but you're not using that accessory socket for your phone while you're in the supermarket...]

EDIT - I think I'm getting confused - see my next response

Sorry Gloucester you've lost me.
My cam is plugged into the aux/usb under the armrest, this powers down after the ignition is off, I have a double adapter in the cigarette lighter socket next to the aux/usb, this has my charger lead for the phone and the vape inserted, again powers down after ignition off.
The socket in front of the gear stick I don't use, I hate wires trailing every where.

I did say:

So you're saying the facelift car IS different and BOTH accessory socket power down on turning the ignition off? I don't think we knew that. Can others corroborate?

EDIT - confirmed below - both sockets power down on a J11B

Just to be clear; there is a difference between the J11a and the J11b on this. Where the power socket in the front remained life all the time in the J11a, it doesn't on the J11b ;)
Also see my complete fuse video for further details.

But as I understand, your dashcam is simply USB wired, correct? So why don't you just drop a simple 20.000MaH powerbank in the armrest and switch your USB plug from the car's USB to the powerbank when needed. It should provide some hours of recording I guess.

That's just what I'm trying at present, Mrs Qashqai found a stick battery bank that was a Christmas stocking filler gift a few years ago and never been used, it's still on charge, 17 hours so far. Luckily a good friend has lent me one of his, I've just plugged to Dash cam in and I'll check later how's it's progressing. This one is I believe 4000mah, my stick is only 1200 so I may get one similar to the one that Gloucester has recommended.
