The only model-specific issue is the cable routing isn't it? And I'd have thought either under the carpet or in the headlining over the doors were both suitable locations.

On the window it's simply one of ensuring you put the camera in a swept area?

Yes you are right its the cableing route i'll have a closer look when the weather gets a bit warmer, i just wondered if anybody on the forum had already fitted one.

I have. Basically you have to route the cable to rear camera from left or right corner of the back of the car and pull the cable through to inside the boot door.

Circled in red is the part you have to remove, attached with clips so it comes out easily. Circled in green is the part where you can pull the cable through. The "pipe" comes off just by pulling it and you pull the cable through. I had to use one of those flexible curtain rods to pull it through the pipe.

Next step is to take off a small plastic hole cover that is on top of the glass, in the middle. Then you somehow pull the cable through there, I used the flexible curtain rod again in this. Took me a bit of time to get it there, but eventually I got it. Now the cable comes out cleanly to center of the glass from above. I think Nissan must have planned on this, since that hole is there.

Can you post a pic where your cam is located and where your power is routed from.

Thanks again

Currently I'm just using the 12V power socket at the front to power both rear and front cameras. Cable is routed to glove box and from there it goes along the A pillar to top of windshield and then down to camera next to mirror.

Blackvue has their rear cameras connected with a single cable that carries both video signal and power. I'm going to hardwire it to fusebox in the spring, once this 40cm of snow and -20C weather is gone. I can post pics tomorrow of my setup.

Here is the photo of my rear camera. Cable comes out from that hole covered with a plastic lid. I need to move my camera lower though, it's on area that isn't wiped by the wiper. You can still see from the video it records, but not as clearly as you would see when it is on wiped area of the glass.

Here is how my front camera is done. Power comes from the right side and cable to rear camera is on the left side. I'll move power cable to the left once I hardwire it later this year. This model comes with hardwire kit and camera has internal voltage control so it doesn't drain your battery in parking mode.

And here is how front camera looks from outside of the car. Sorry about the bad lighting, garage has one not-so-great light in it. Oh, and camera is more visible from passenger seat than driver's.
