The 2019/2020 Nissan Qashqai is a weird area in terms of alarm system. Some cars have internal sensor alarm, others don’t. Some used to have the feature but it got removed when they updated the car.

When looking on autotrader I notice some cars have one style while others have other style, I circled the screenshots in red, which one has the interior alarm?

Interesting

No one's raised this difference before, either the physical difference in the panel you've illustrated or the possibility that not all cars have interior movement sensors.

How do you know that one of these doesn't have the interior sensor - I can't imagine why that wasn't standard throughout, at least for UK models.

This is part of a wider Nissan problem where they randomly change the specifications across a model range.
I would suggest buying from a Nissan main dealer, at least you should get an official Nissan demonstration of how your car works - just remember to book the demo !

It’s used to be standard many years ago but I think after the 2017 facelift the interior sensors haven’t been consistent on the Qashqai, even if someone has the interior sensors apparently it disappears after an update: viewtopic.php?t=9816

The annoying thing is people who got their vehicles from a Nissan dealership were advertised the interior sensor alarm within the handbook but upon delivery they were disappointed to find nothing: viewtopic.php?t=9012

Interesting - thanks for the link to that topic which I don't recall seeing.

It's a pity that the people who posted there never published any follow-ups as to what the situation actually is with their cars.

Could people with a J11B please check what panel they have above the windscreen and whether they have a working internal sensor? (Take granny to the supermarket, lock the car while you go shopping leaving her in it, and see if the alarm goes off!)

My J11b (67 Plate) has the interior volumetric sensors fitted. The handbook does mention "where fitted" so is an option. See Settings Menu to configure and I've never done that.

I note that if you press (gently-ish) on the black sonic (transmitters I think) they easily sink into the lamp(s) body. Not well fixed in place for some reason?

Attached pic...the enable/disable button + LEDs are at the lower edge of the rear view mirror..in vicinity of the red/green markers in pic. Likely needs ignition on to see if any LED is lit. Think its green for active?

think you`ll find that the button below the mirror is to turn on/off the rear view dimming system ;)
