Is anyone having issues with Navigation Apps while connected wirelessly to Apple CarPlay using an iPhone 13?

I love the CarPlay feature to play music and podcasts but I'm finding that the iPhone connects to a WIFI network called CarPlay_f1de which also shows Low Data Mode. This basically allows the iPhone and car to work in tandem but does not allow the phone to connect externally to the car therefore Navigation Apps cannot connect to the Internet to provide Navigation services.

I would love to get some feedback from other users if they have experienced and resolved this issue themselves. My iPhone and Qashqai software's are all at current levels I keep everything to latest release.

Not had my car too long (two months) and so far only tried Google Maps, which have worked seamlessly.
I have noticed that I have to unlock the phone to get it to charge (wired or wireless) another "feature" to get used to….

I’m an iPhone 13 user too.
I haven’t interrogated the phone to see what it’s doing though.

I’m not using the car until tomorrow, if I remember I’ll have a look.

I’ve not had any problems with any of the navigation apps on my iPhone and the NissanConnect Navigation System using wireless Apple CarPlay.

I will check next time I am in the car but you should be able to toggle Low Data Mode On/Off on your iPhone by pressing the (i) to the right of the current WiFi connection:

It might also be a default setting on your iPhone to use Low Data Mode automatically for all connections - check SETTINGS > MOBILE DATA > MOBILE DATA OPTIONS > DATA MODE. My iPhone is currently set to Standard. The other two options on my iPhone being Allow More Data on 5G and Low Data Mode.

When connecting wirelessly for Apple carplay, if you turn on phone hotspot for other devices to connect to the phones data carplay switches off. Is there a way to simultaneously have them both?

I can’t see Low Data Mode when I connect via CarPlay so it must be down to the iOS setting overriding things on your iPhone?
