Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

Post by jonmat236970 »

Hi,
I’m hoping to buy a Qashqai in the next week or so and I can either get an in stock my21.5 Tekna or wait for a my22 one. I can’t for the life of me find anything to tell me the difference between the two year models. Can anyone help?
Sorry if it’s a stupid question I just can’t find an answer anywhere. Do I lose much by getting the my21.5 Tekna?
Thank you.

Not a great deal really. There's not really a specific model update been announced. Just tiny tweaks.

There are some minor changes to the infotainment screen in the middle that is slightly larger with a different operating system. But not aware of life changing improvements to it.

Some minor cosmetic changes to to rear bumper trim.

What is the price difference being quoted for the stock and order vehicles?

Welcome to this forum.

Nissan tend to make changes all the time to their specification and sometimes these take months to work through the system.

The only significant change might be the larger infotainment screen. No one has reported having a car with the new screen so far and we don't know whether there are any differences beyond size and button layout. Described in detail on another posting here - check out viewtopic.php?t=12075&start=11.

Thank you. What a great forum. I’m going to put an order in for the My21.5 then as the bigger screen would be nice but not worth the wait or extra money for my needs. (An extra £1500 ish.)

Really appreciate the support and I look forward to joining the club!

The only report I found readily on google about the updates was this one...

Hi, new to the forum but not new to Qashqai's.
On Tuesday I took delivery of my Tekna after trading in my X Trail. The car was a cancelled order from way back, so all in all it only took a month from order to collection. When I arrived the salesman was quite excited saying it had a bigger screen and was the first one he had seen. I don't know how it differs in usage from the old screen, but it seems very responsive when swiped and already a couple of passengers have commented on the size of it. The only other differences as far as I can tell are as previously mentioned the bumper panel is now a darker, almost graphite grey and the key fob is different too, I've added a picture of the fob.

Hello @Halcyon and welcome to the forum.

Glad you’ve received your new Qashqai with the upgrade to the larger infotainment system.

You will probably find you’ve also got the new Nissan logo/badge on the front of the car too, as per the revised logo on your key fob.

That new Nissan logo is probably the first external indicator it’s the newer Qashqai, although you’d have to know what the older design looks like I’d imagine.

Enjoy your new Qashqai! :)

Thank you.

Yeah I should have commented on the new badge too. I will see how I get on with Qashqai after deserting them previously for X Trails. One thing I LOVE is the HUD.

Cheers.

Ha...an honour lol.
Cant pretend to be an expert on this model by any means but if anyone has any specific questions regarding the car, I'll do my best to find the answers.
Bearing in mind I searched for half an hour to find a means of turning on the passenger airbag before RTFM and finding out its automatic depending on occupant.
I do miss the BOSE system that my other QQ's and X Trails had though.
