Hi guys, I’ve had the car 6 months now and when filling the screen wash yesterday having it being empty, I noticed the coolant is also at minimum.

I’ve searched online but would you only recommend using Nissans own coolant or would it be safe to use any recommended for that vehicle?

If you recommend Nissan own, does anyone know which one it is as there are a few different ones available and when putting in my reg it just says it will be checked prior to dispatch?

Thanks :)

this is what you may need and check what colour it in the car at the moment. if it`s green then you`ll be ok. but pop into your local nissan dealer with a parts dept and see how much they charge as may save on the p&p :D

Hi,whilst filling my windscreen wash I noticed my coolant was near the minimum after only owning it for 6 months. I am booked in next week at my Nissan dealers to see what they say as it should be between the max and minimum level at the worst.Has your coolant stabilised after topping it up?

Hi, I have not topped it up as it is only 6 months old and shouldn’t drop this much from being new.According to some forums a sealed unit shouldn’t need to be topped up so could be leaking somewhere. However there is no coolant on my drive.

Agreed , as its a recent car - take it back to the dealer

The dealer topped it up to the max 3 weeks ago and I have done 450 miles since and it is going back down so must be internal.I phoned dealer today and it is booked in for Monday to do a pressure test I think.

To Eddie1 and Wiganlad: apart from the coolant level, did you see any rising up or strange behaviour of the temperature gauge?
