Hi All,
My cruise control on J11 petrol accenta keeps disengaging and I have to waddle the paddle for up to 20 secs to get it to re-engage again, only for it to drop out again later. Sometimes cruise control can work for 2 seconds, sometimes 10 minutes. Once it has disengaged if I turn cruise control off then on then it normally comes back on immediately, only to fail again shortly.
A Cruise Control Paddle Error comes up in diagnostics. My garage says they cannot fix it. Any clues as to what is wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
I can’t recall this cropping up before, so I hope someone more knowledgeable pops along soon

Sorry but you've completely lost me here - what do you mean by "I have to waddle the paddle for up to 20 secs to get it to re-engage again".
What is "waddle" in this context and what is the "paddle"?

OK thanks - so:
I think possibly that doing that is irrelevant? But rather it's a possible problem with the clutch or brake pedal detection?
Alternatively if it is something on the steering wheel there are reported elsewhere of people having the "clock spring" replaced - the bit that give electrical continuity as the steering wheel is rotated.
Or the Cancel button switch is failing?

Is it a manual car and if so, are you in the habit of many car drivers of driving with you foot over the clutch pedal? That will disengage cruise as well as touching the brakes.
You really need to put the car with a diagnostic to find any fault codes which will point you in the right direction.

Cruise Control is technically known as ASCD. It is controlled by the ECU as pic below. Plenty can go wrong so it will need a visit to Nissan I'd say
