Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Post by mcscoty »

Hello everyone, first post here.

I pick up my QQ tomorrow so quite excited its a cancelled order from main dealer so should be delivery mileage etc but was first registered on 30 of June. I am a little confused as when I put the reg into Nissan service plan for a quote it comes back and tells me that it is a 2021MY however the car has the new 12.3 infotainment system and new Nissan Logo etc which would as I understand it, indicate this is a MY2022.

Could Nissan Service lookup be wrong?

Cheers
David.

Welcome to the forum.

Nissan have a history of applying upgrades in a random fashion.
For example, there are 2018 cars with CarPlay and 2019 cars without CarPlay.
I wouldn’t worry if I were you, be pleased you have the larger screen and enjoy your car
March '22 - J12 1.3DIG-T 160 CVT Tekna+ with all wheel drive - Pearl Black
July '19 - J11B 1.3DIG-T 160 DCT Tekna - Vivid Blue

September '14 - Juke 1.5dci gunmetal ascenta premium (red accent packs)

Welcome to this forum.

Nissan don't work on model years for specification changes. The infotainment upgrade occurred in theory around April.

Thanks guys.

Its not just the infotainment that was upgraded on my soon to be QQ it is everything described in the new MY22 spec though, so assumed I would have the My22 not the 21.

Part of the reason I am curious is that I am considering the Nissan branded Dashcam and it appears there are two models, only one compatible with the MY22.

Might clear it up tomorrow when I get all the paperwork but yeah just glad I have the new 12.3 screen, the rest isn't that important really.

Cheers
David.

The only Nissan branded dashcam we know about was originally said to be for the J12 but was found to actually be for the J11 - as one of our members found out.

Please post details of the ones you've seen.

Here you go

MY1 : https://shop.nissan.co.uk/products/genu ... nk-harness

MY2: https://shop.nissan.co.uk/products/genu ... b84526uroa

Look same to me though.

I had been thinking of getting a Dongar Technologies mirror to USB and a Garmin mini 2 as this seemed a reasonably easy way to get a DashCam working and non destructive, but at 40 quid and only works while driving, it is possibly better just pay 50 to Halfords to fit as it will work in parking mode then. I had heard there is another option to get power from mirror to USB, but not seen it. Anyway know of an alternative?

Thanks - I don't believe we've seen either of those dashcams before - and they must be very recent since they refer to the e-power. The definition is not fully defined: "high-definition recording" so I'd check that, and it's dearer than a Nextbase 522GW albeit better integrated.

The power from mirror to USB is discussed elsewhere on this forum in detail will ordering and installation info. I note one of the links you've provided shows "Link Harness" so perhaps that's there with the later cars and not with the earlier ones.

I presently use a NextBase 312GW and I'm very happy with it. The computer software used with it is excellent. It's FullHD but that's only just about OK - and even then registration numbers aren't always clear - so I'd suggest a higher resolution.

For a new car or possibly replacement on my current car I'm looking at upgrading to a Nextbase 522GW which has 1440p HD with rear camera too. The 622GW brings 4K but it's £100 more.

https://www.halfords.com/technology/das ... 50454.html - £280 fitted (EDIT - £305 to include hardwire kit (not immediately obvious!) - I think that price has gone up since I last looked! Nextbase also direct sell and fit but they're currently more expensive still.

I get that package at 314.

219 for bundle

25 for wiring harness

70 for fitting

Am I missing something? I believe next base provide cheaper fitting and free harness as well.

I've edited

Nextbase fitting is £89 for the 522GW - that does include the wiring kit though

The Nextbase bundle is https://nextbase.co.uk/exclusive-offers ... ith-128gb/ but (despite the URL) it comes with a hefty 256GB card (£100 normally), unlike the Halfords one which is only 32GB (£20)

next base 89 to fit including harness cheaper than halfords but main package 279 from then so still cheaper at halfords.
