1.2 dig-t petrol 'turbo noise is this normal'

Hi,
I have recently brought a 2015 qashqai 1.2 dig-t petrol that had a problem with no turbo boost at all, there was no engine management light on but the dreaded P0299 fault code. After taking it to a garage they diagnosed that l needed a new or recon turbo.

I brought a recon turbo and new oil supply pipe which was then fitted by the garage along with carrying out a service. It's now like a different car to drive and has certainly fixed the turbo issue l had, the P0299 fault code has also gone away.

The only niggle that's bothering me now is when you release the accelerator the car makes quite a loud whooshing noise to the extent that it sounds like it has a dump valve fitted. I have been back to the garage to see if this is normal and they are saying its just the waste gate opening and nothing to worry about. I'm starting to panic now thinking there is something else wrong and maybe this is why the cars turbo packed up with only 46k on the clock and full main dealer service history.

Does anybody have experience of the 1.2 dig-t petrol engines that can tell me if the wastegate is loud or could there be back pressure releasing from somewhere else as the garage say there are no leaks on any pipework.

Sounds pretty normal to me, with our car there isn't any noise (whistling, whooshing) whilst it spools up but it does make a tailing off whooshing sound when changing gear, virtually silent inside the car but noticeable when a window is down.
I believe that if you're not experiencing any whining, rattles or hissing then you are gtg.

I'm pretty sure it when the diverter valve is changing position to expel the pressure away from the turbo. It's really is loud and gets even louder if you remove the air filter.

I've always heard that whoosh in the summer when the windows are open, it's normal.
