Hi all, I recently took my 15 plate J11 into a local garage to have the CV joint and driveshaft replaced. I was under the impression that this wasn't the biggest of jobs but have now been informed by the garage the part isn't currently available as an aftermarket part.

The solution offered was to have the old one removed and refurbished, taking approximately 7/10 days. I've now been told that they had to cut off a bearing carrier (?) as it was seized on, which has to be purchased from Nissan.

Originally quoted £500 for the refurbishment and now an extra £300 for the carrier/cage.

My question is, does any of this stack up? 2 weeks in and no car is becoming a proper bind.

I thoroughly appreciate any help/advice given.
