Dash vent control knob broke off

The air vent control dial in my dash broke off. My dilemma is, if it is a defective part it is covered by my extended warranty. It is a $300 part + installation. Has anyone had this little vent wheel break off and go into the dash?

Hi, I'm guessing that you're not in the UK as you're quoting $300 for the upper dash vent?
Location aside, these are readily available used on EBay for around £20 for the left/right side vents or around £30-£40 for the double centre vent.
I've had mine off the dash (cure a rattle) and it is relatively easy to do, two minute job using trim tools.
Something to consider if you have no luck at the dealers.

i replaced my partners center air vent 2wks ago on a 2015 qashqai as there was a bit missing when we got the car 4wks ago. as you cannot buy the small parts you have to get the whole vent. they only clip in place to easy to remove etc. a few links below for you i`m sure you won`t have any trouble getting 2nd hand parts..
