Chassis control system fault

My car has come up with a message when I turn it off " Chassis control warning system fault " and the dashboard lights will not turn off even when car is off and doors locked . When can is on there are no warnings , this is only when I turn car off that this message comes up . Any ideas

Thanx for the reply , wife has car on buisness trip , so just waiting for her to get back to me , we managed to clear warning on dash by pushing the ok button (to acknowledge fault/warning) , however rest of dash lights still on . This has been on all night . As soon as she reply to me I will get her to check sensors . As for code reader I'll have to wait to get car back home then I can take to garage to plug it in
