Stop Start

We have stop start fitted on our 2016 Qashqai, I have only seen it activate once or twice even on a really long journey, and can go days without it coming on. Not sure if this is the battery too low, or the car never getting up to temperature? Out temp gauge never seems to go above 1/3 of the way, unlike the 1/2 way you see on most cars, so wasnt sure if this was normal? Many thanks in advance

There are many (some say too many) parameters to fulfil to trigger the stop/start
It’s bizarre in that it will work when cold , with air con on warm and headlights on (personal experience) but sometimes doesn’t kick in on a warm day (although I never turn my air con off)
Your suggestion w.r.t. battery charge is probably near the mark

On short journeys I tend to turn it off these days

Thank you, I have only seen it come on, on a long journey, but hardly ever, I was expecting it to be more frequent like other cars, so just making sure nothing was wrong

Have you had your battery checked out as it may still be the original one and getting onto 8yrs old now.
