We have recently bought an E-Power 1.5 HEV. The cabin temp either in auto or manual mode, doesn't bear any resemblance to the actual temperature. So Low is coldish but 16.0 degrees (the next gradation) is neutral/warm and higher than the temp shown on the dial. It becomes unbearably warm by 21 degrees and unacceptable by 25 degrees. At low temps it freezes the footwell and higher temps come through the centre vents. Only on auto does the cabin temp vaguely mirror the displayed temp but usually about 4 degrees out. So manual is unusable and auto just about. Nissan have taken it in for an extended check but they say we're the only ones with the problems. Is this a design fault? Anyone else?

The temperature setting depends on whether or not you use the air conditioning and the presence of the sun because there is a sensor on the dashboard.
Auto, AC off 16.5 without sun is OK
Auto, AC on 18 without sun is OK
Auto, AC on 20 with sun is OK
The heater uses engine water and electrical resistance to heat quickly.

Thanks Dodo. Nissan (Marshall's) have found that the cabin sensor is malfunctioning and will be replaced. Bizarrely, our loan identical car does exactly the same thing so bang goes the "you're the only one" argument. Impressively, the factory returned 4 tests to the Dealer very quickly and they have the car for a week to do extensive tests themselves. I have to say that the Nissan is much more quirky and clumsy than the Ford Kuga it replaced but we're getting used to it.
