Hello, I just had the RAC come to my aid as dpf & orange engine management light showing. RAC guy said the engine was showing 780 degrees but engine was cold and not used since the day before. He said it was a faulty the air temp sensor but couldn't locate it under the bonnet. Said it needed a garage visit to get a new air temp sensor and codes cleared, but he didn't really seem that interested. Has anyone encountered a similar issue ? I wondered whether the temp was that high ticking over because it was trying to regen itself? It had been on the motorway yesterday. Any advice is welcome thank you.

Thank you thats great, but isnt that for the coolant sensor? From what the RAC guy said it was more to do with the MAF sensor? If I cleaned or replaced the MAF Sensor, Would something like a TopDon, Topscan OBD2, be able to clear the codes following a forced regen if it was necessary?

Give this one a try. Not sure about basic code reader removing code but no harm in trying if you got a code reader.

Thank you for the videos, my situation has gotten a bit bizzare. I changed the MAF Sensor which slots into the circular tube, and the air filter. This appeared to have worked and the check engine light (CEL) went out when i erased the code. Car was running well. So I was left with the DPF light and error code (Icarsoft) P1435, so I have been running it to work, with DPF cleaner in the tank to burn off the soot. Yesterday on way home the DPF light went off, great I thought, only to be replaced with the CEL light again?? On using the Icarsoft, its showing high temperature still and the DPF diagnostics is showing Regeneration (current) Error Code P1435 ???

So Im debating whether to do a forced regen in the hope i can then trick the CEL into thinking its a new one and it clears the P1435 DTC and get a Oil/Filter Service. Or wait and see if continued journeys clear the CEL?

Update - I carried out a forced regen tonight and a huge amount of smoke came out at one point. Took about 40 minutes in total. At the end there was no option around confirming a new dpf as before and can't find it anywhere? Anyway the p1435 fault code is still there and is still showing current - regeneration BUT the temp has dropped from 688g to 11g so that's worked. It's booked in for an oil and filter change in the morning.

If anyone has any idea how to get rid of that annoying p1435 code I'd appreciate any suggestions?

glad your makeing a bit of progress, when you take it for service in the morn get them to change your fuel filter as well, and ask them if they can clear the code for you at the same time ;-)
