Qashqai J11 1.5d-What is this pipe

Hi all,

Changed the oil today in my wife's qashqai and found this pipe just hanging down. Seems to start just under where the oil filler is located. Any idea what is it for and where it connects to.

Could be air con drain pipe that just drips water out when aircon is running . Was it not there the last time you did an oil and filter change ?

I think you will find it's an overflow and nothing to worry about.
Follow it back, If I remember correctly it's from gearbox, but I don't work on many of these so don't take that as gospel.

The ac drain is in the middle of the car further back and doesn't look like that.

This is my first time to do an oil change in this car.

On further investigation, it would seem that this is a fuel drain which is used during fuel rail service procedures. So, nothing to worry about.
